The original recipe:<br /> Castor oil 1 oz<br /> Coconut oil 6 oz<br /> Olive oil 26 oz<br /> Water 10 oz<br /> Lye (NaOH) 4.4 oz<br />For students, I converted everything into grams and cut it into one-quarter the amount. It mixes well in a 400 mL beaker and makes four bars. Students also added "a capful" of essential oil for scent. I used grapefruit for its economy. I have also scoured the web for soap recipes in the hopes of finding one that was not overly dangerous to run with a room full of 20-30 teenagers.
