A quiz on cell respiration in the biology classes revealed continuing confusion about just what the terms really meant. While many students were successful on this quiz, by the questions before and during the quiz, I felt that they did not truly understand the terms and the metabolic reactions, and that memorized pathways and words accounted for their successes. I am going to reteach this section and include a kinesthetic portion to the reteach. With ten steps to the glycolytic pathway, a student could be used for each of the steps, and cards passed to represent the glucose, ATP, pyruvate, and so on. This would be an interesting video to assemble as well.
